The best distribution, in the sense that the electrostatic repulsion energy is a minimum, of 8 points on the surface of the sphere corresponds not to a cube but to an Archimedean antiprism. The convex hull has been determined using qhull from the best distribution of points determined by tessel. The plot has been produced using Geomview.
